Hey there,

My name is Kohonez. I live and work in Southern California.

A couple years ago, I made the decision to drive six hours to take a private instruction with Troy in San Francisco before he created TDD. The experience opened my eyes to what was possible and what I needed to do.

After that, I rolled up my sleeves and focused on improving my lifestyle: building a social circle through salsa, going on conveyance dates, managing Facebook more strategically, building a pipeline, working on my logistics and trying to stay in shape. It's weird how stuff falls into place when you put the work in.

But recently my job and other commitments kind of ate up my time and I've lost focus.

Last month, I was driving a girl back from a salsa event and the energy was flagging. I turned things personal, and started making some observations about her: "When I first met you, I thought you were shy." blah blah blah. That got her attention.

Then I practiced some stuff I picked up from a COC podcast. I talked about MY core values: "I have strong likes and dislikes about people, but if I like a person and consider them a friend, I'll do just about anything for them." She immediately opens up. Then I started foreshadowing and she was all over it. I was like, Holy Shit this stuff fucking works!

I realized I can't just wing it and make shit up as I go along: It's good to have some kind of structure and strategy to my interactions. I'm ready to jump in again and take things to the next level.

My sticking points are that I freeze up when my unicorn enters my space. That really bugs me. I'm not good with the nonverbals yet. I don't have logistics 100% locked down yet. Frankly, I think I got a bunch of work ahead of me.

I'm excited to be able to work with Troy on the mentorship. Can't wait to master a new set of skills and see how far I can take this.

More later,
Kohonez

WOW. You fucking said it man. I have been witness to this for nearly 4 something years (I'm glad what was to be TDD was already building up at that time), but damn you really nailed it. For all chit chat masters out there, READ THIS a hundred times over! LOL.

Mentorship Call 1 baby...sooner than you think ;)
